Antara Mali does not lack the oomph factor though she may lack a good number of hits. She has recently moved to directing from acting and also stands a chance to be a success as a contortionist considering the amazing flexibility she has displayed in Naach.

Antara Mali was born in Gajraula, Uttar Pradesh.

Antra Maali daughter of ace-photographer 'Jagdish Mali'. Her mother was a theater actress. Her grandfather was a painter Shantanu Mali. With a legacy like this, it was only natural that Antara Mali would take to the arts, though it was films that interested her.

Antara made her Bollywood debut in a small budget film called Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge. The film went unnoticed and to Antara’s dismay her second film Dum Dum Diga Diga, was never completed.

She has worked frequently with Ram Gopal Varma. Her first movie with him was Prem Katha (1999). This is also her Telugu debut movie.

After this, she became a staple feature in Ram Gopal Varma’s movies. Then she came in Ramgopal Varma's Darna Mana Hai which has six stories interwoven together into a single movie. In the first story she is acting with Sohail Khan which revolves around a young, married couple stuck in the middle of a dense forest.

The next one being Company in which she played a complex and a deep character, and she graduated from second fiddle roles to being a heroine in Ramu’s Road.

Antara has loads of talent, and there can be no greater personality than Amitabh to testify. He was so impressed by her performance in 'Company' that he called her personally, and congratulated her.

Her next release was the offbeat Road, which saw her transformation into a sizzling, bold and sexy Antara, with an enviably perfect figure to drool over.

Then she snapped up the in the leading role in Ramgopal Varma’s film with an unusual title Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon. The film is said to be based on a heroine-oriented story and will have Antara pairing with the lesser-known Rajpal Yadav.

She might have bared it all in the skimpy albeit well-designed two-pieces in Ram Gopal Varma's Naach.

From pomfrets and shrimps to a vegetarian, Antara loves typical Maharashtrian food, vada pav being her favourite. “But dessert is a must”, says the spice girl with a sweet tooth who loves chocolate mousse and cheesecake.

Mature beyond her years, spontaneous and sensitive, it's difficult to ignore Antara. Her film ‘Gayab’ saw her looking hot in her skimpy outfits giving other bold babes a run for their money.

Eventually, she plans to move into film direction. Mr Ya Miss (2005) was Mali’s directorial debut in which she also acted with Aftab Shivdasani and Ritesh Deshmukh. It was the remake of the Hollywood hit Switch but fell flat.

Antara Mali married Che Kurrien, the editor of GQ magazine on 12 June 2009.

The lissome lasso is much more than you see. Inside the good girl, who sports an 'Om' tattoo on her arm, resides a naughty nymphet, who also sports a devil tattoo on her curvaceous body. Where? Keep guessing!
